As I stepped onto the busy street, the first thing I noticed was this telephone booth. It has been converted (by some amazingly keen people from the neighbourhood) into this street library. You could read the rules for the book exchange on the side. The only thing missing was the books; it was completely deserted and empty. I don't know what I thought exactly. That we need more to ignite the sense of community in a neighbourhood? Or that such a lovely idea deserved more attention and life? Maybe both. But the next time I walk past, I plan on bringing some books, just in case mine is the push it needs to revive.
